  • Benchmarking Good Practice in Social Innovation Report

    The Atlantic Social Lab (ASL) has commissioned this report to use the conclusions of existing ASL Partners’ reports to generate benchmarks of good practice in the Atlantic Area territories (regions of Spain, Portugal, France, Ireland, and the UK).

    This report has been prepared by Danson Associates & the GCU team. Fiona Henderson & Geoff Whittam in the organisation team, Iain Campbell, Michael Danson, Fiona Henderson and Geoff Whittam for the analysis of the data and document drafting, and finally Geoff Whittam, Fiona Henderson and Project Partners for the revision of fthe content.

    Tech for Good project launched

    The Social Technology Project was recently launched and involves an exciting new student-led programme that helps schools to explore solutions to social issues through the use of technology. The new programme aims to develop and promote creative thinking around local social issues for young people which will then be transferred into a app or game. The project has been launched this week by Enterprise North West in partnership with Lisneal College and Kippie CIC.

    Scotland’s Social Enterprise Strategy 2016-2026 was launched in December 2016. The Strategy presents ongoing commitment to supporting the social enterprise sector, and complements other key Scottish Government policy commitments to a fairer society and inclusive economy.

    The Atlantic Social Lab partnership has concluded the report “Social innovation pilot actions in the Atlantic Area: a proposal for monitoring impacts”.

    This document suggests an evaluation method for social innovation initiatives. Pilot actions implemented in 2018 and 2019 by the project partners were used as an empirical material to perform this type of assessment. The study was organized by the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra with information provided by the project partners.
