    Study Visits

    The Gijón Youth Office is a space dedicated to young people aged up to 30, a free public service whose main objective is to provide a wide range of services that aim to share information, specialised advice, training, infrastructures and activities for young people in the municipality. This space aims to turn the young people of Gijón into active citizens, immersed in the culture of their territory and to be a comfortable, relatable and reference space for its target public.

  • Study Visit Report. Extension Kick-off Meeting in Avilés (14th - 15th June 2022). Factoría Cultural de Avilés
    Study Visits

    The Cultural Factory is a non-profit multidisciplinary public arts centre, located in the building of a former shirt factory, built-in 1950. The Cultural Factory opened its doors in 2007 and is funded by the Avilés Municipal Culture Foundation. The primary objective of the Culture Factory is to bring the entire population of the region of Avilés closer to the regional and Asturian culture. This non-profit public organization has as its target audience children, youth, adults, the elderly, etc. It should be noted that the centre makes particular efforts to extend its services to people with disabilities and promoting their access to culture, as a means to promote their social inclusion.

    Study Visits

    Founded in March 2010, Decuchara Restauración Social LTD. is a social insertion company owned by the LATRÉBEDE Women's Association, an entity aimed at the social and labour integration of women at risk of exclusion. One of the founding objectives of the company is to promote equal opportunities, as it pursues the incorporation of women in vulnerable situations into the labour market. This report was developed by Carla Nogueira and Hugo Pinto from CES - Centre for Social Studies, University of Coimbra and revised by the ASL partners. 

  • Atlantic Observatory for Social Innovation: Trends on social innovation: perspectives from four domains report

    The report entitled Trends on social innovation: perspectives from four domains was developed from the experiences of the ASL project pilot actions and work groups and it centres on the identification of trends in the project thematic areas.

    This document presents the experience of the implementation of the pilot actions in the ASL as a demonstration of the use of social innovation in the context of public, private and third sector organisations to deal with emerging social problems and stimulate the improvement of the standards of living.

  • Atlantic Observatory for Social Innovation: Study Social innovation in a world of multiple-transitions

    Trend Report Final

    The study Social innovation in a world of multiple-transitions is the result of a joint reflection between Manuel Laranja, Professor at the ISEG-University of Lisbon, and Hugo Pinto, responsible for the ASL project on behalf of CES.

    Realised in the context of the Atlantic Observatory for Social Innovation, the study focuses on the role of social innovation in the transition towards a more sustainable and equal society in the post-pandemic world. Identifying various relevant initiatives in different countries of the world, the analysis suggests social innovation as the answer to the deep changes prompted by the Covi d-19 pandemic.
