Study Visit Report. Extension: Meeting in Guimarães. Comunidade Criativa de Inclusão DigitalStudy Visits
In 2020, the delegation of the Portuguese Red Cross in Guimarães has implemented a social innovation project called "Comunidade Criativa de Inclusão Digital” (CCIDG) - Creative Community for Digital Inclusion. This initiative aimed to create a creative community of digital inclusion, improve intergenerational work and, at the same time, contribute to greater civic participation of local youth through volunteering. This project is the result of a partnership with the local authority and is part of a strategy to combat isolation and to work more closely with vulnerable groups, such as isolated elderly people, ethnic minorities, the long-term unemployed, people with disabilities, the homeless and children and young people at risk. It aims to promote technical, prosocial and personal skills.

Study Visit Report. Extension: Meeting in Guimarães. Centro de Acolhimento de Emergência SocialStudy Visits
The Centro de Acolhimento de Emergência Social (CAES) - Social Emergency Shelter of Guimarães - emerged from the pandemic in March 2020 to address homeless people, victims of domestic violence, migrants and citizens needing international protection, among other emerging cases. This response was the result of a joint emergency effort between the Civil Protection Services, the Municipality of Guimarães and the institutions that make up the Rede de Apoio Social de Emergência (Emergency Social Support Network). This centre also aims to stimulate and develop the personal and social skills of its beneficiaries, most of whom have not had the opportunity to develop a sense of purpose in life.

Study Visit Report. Extension: Meeting in Guimarães. Oficina Criativa da Trança da PalhaStudy Visits
The Oficina Criativa da Trança da Palha (Creative Straw Braiding Workshop) is a space dedicated to learning and producing handicrafts with a view to combining tradition and innovation. It is based on one of the most significant elements of Fafense's ethnographic heritage - the art of straw. This initiative brings together unemployed people, particularly women and older adults (aged 50-65), with the aim of connecting them and stimulating their independence, so that they can benefit from an extra income while practicing their leisure hobbies and socialising with other people, as well as capturing the interest of people, particularly the younger generation, in this art, to ensure its continuity for future generations
