On the 28th of February, the European Commission approved Denmark's payment request for €301 million of grants under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), the key instrument for NextGenerationEU.

In its first instalment implementation decision, the Council selected 23 milestones and two targets based on which Denmark submitted a payment request to the Commission on 16 December 2022. Among them are reforms related to the green tax reform and the digitalization of the health system. There are also several milestones and targets related to green transitions of agriculture and environment, energy efficiency, clean vehicles and ferries, as well as research.
