A covered walkway for Lamas de Abade, thanks to the Participatory Budget
Santiago de Compostela’s Councillor for Economy and Finance María Rozas and Councillor for Rural Affairs Rafael Peña visited the covered walkway that has been finished thanks to the 2017 “Compostela Decides” programme, a Participatory Budgeting scheme. The footpath at Lamas de Abade connects the elementary school to the high school.
This 60,000 euro project will mean that schoolchildren can now get to the dining room safely and under shelter in bad weather, explained councillor Rozas, who expressed satisfaction that the initiative chosen by the neighbours of the area had come to fruition through the city’s Participatory Budget scheme.
