The conference "Investing in Digitalisation in the Western Balkans" took place in Sarajevo and involved a donor coordination meeting on the Western Balkans Common Regional Market and the Regional Digital Area. The event, which was organised by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), gathered the region's digital ministers and other key government officials, local and international experts in digital projects, main donors and international financial institutions, as well as business representatives from the Western Balkans. They exchanged major success experiences of digitalisation in the Western Balkans and recognised the importance of promoting successful digitalisation models in the area of soft and hard infrastructure in the private and public sectors. They also recognised the need to address the infrastructural and financial gaps in the digital infrastructure sector, to create a regional digital space and digital ecosystems, and to increase financing opportunities for the digitalisation of small businesses as key priorities for the future.
