Tue, 09/13/2022 - 11:51 ASL PARTNERS IN ACTION - Gijón's mental health programme has been awarded as good practice by the European Commission
The "Prometeo" programme, in implementation for 15 years, has had positive results. The programme aims to work on mental health from the point of social integration.
Since the programme began, it has assisted 95 people, mostly men. In the last ten years, the number of patients has tripled, and the programme has gone from managing 3 homes to 18.

Tue, 09/13/2022 - 11:43 ASL PARTNERS IN ACTION - Gijón sees a possible end to homelessness by 2030
The Municipal Foundation of Social Services of Gijón, one of the new partners of the ASL, joins 15 entities of the third sector, to sign an agreement to "reformulate" the Active Inclusion Network that was launched in 2010 to improve care for the homeless, and to which more and more associations have been approaching during this time. The aim of this reformulation is to tackle this problem with a more global vision.

EC formally approved, on September 9th, the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme 2021-2027. The goal is to renew the commitment with the Atlantic regions in the support of innovative initiatives for a smarter, greener and more social Europe.

Innovation is critical to navigate the twin green and digital transitions and to secure the EU’s strategic autonomy.
European Commission adopted a New European Innovation Agenda to position Europe at the forefront of the new wave of deep tech innovation and start-ups.
The New European Innovation Agenda sets out 25 dedicated actions under five flagships:
- Funding Scale-Ups
- Enabling innovation through experimentation spaces and public procurement

The European Commission launches the 2023 edition of the Access City Award competition. The aim of this initiative is to reward cities that demonstrate best practice in breaking down barriers for people with disabilities.
There are cash prizes for the first three winners.
All EU cities of over 50 000 inhabitants and
urban areas composed of two or more towns with a combined population of over 50 000 inhabitants, if they are in EU countries with fewer than 2 cities with over 50 000 inhabitants.Applications are open until 8 September 2022 at 23:59 CEST.

The Atlantic Social Lab (ASL) has approved an extension to continue developing its work. ASL is a project that seeks to develop and promote approaches and methods of social innovation oriented to meet the social challenges of the Atlantic Area.

The Atlantic Social Lab has recently made available a set of three documents: a study on social innovation and the pandemic; a report on the trends of social innovation; and four thematic leaflets. These documents are the results of the work done in the project since 2018, reflecting some of the main conclusions that the team reached.

The ASL project in Cork organised a webinar on "Funding and Finance in uncertain times" for Social Enterprises on Friday the 11th of September.
More than 15 organisations working in the social economy sector participated in this event and included social enterprises and social enterprise support organisations.

Tue, 09/15/2020 - 10:32 Final Conference of ASL project. 16th September 2020. Pau (France). Virtual session
On Wednesday 16 th September 2020, the Final Conference of the European ATLANTIC SOCIAL LAB project will take place in the French city of Pau.
This year, due to the exceptional circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the final conference will develop on a virtual format by streaming on ZOOM from 10:00 to 12:00 CET.
