Next coordination meeting in Santiago, on 30th and 31st October
Santiago de Compostela City will host the 5th Coordination Meeting and study visits of the ATLANTIC SOCIAL LAB project that will take place the next 30th and 31st October 2018.
Emerging social issues and challenges are requiring new responses as institutions are finding increasingly difficult to provide solutions based on traditional methods. We are at a turning point to face a double challenge responding to emerging needs as a consequence of renewed social preferences and structural changes (demography, staff shortages, technological innovations, etc.) in a context of severe budgetary constraints.
Atlantic Social Lab is an European project that aims to develop and promote social innovation approaches and methods to give response to key growing social issues of the Atlantic Area, both within citizens, third sector and social enterprises as well as the public sector. Through an intensive transnational cooperation, the partners will implement and test small probing interventions to finally scale them up in the following areas:
i) Social innovation & welfare services
ii) Social innovation & active public engagement,
iii) Green inclusive economy and
iv) Social economy and social responsibility in the private
Atlantic Social Lab activities have been conceived to be jointly developed by the partnership with a double structure: local & regional public organisations, third sector organisations & associations will be implementing the pilot actions while Universities will act as quality control and academic advisors to monitor, guide and produce the final policy documents and evaluation tool kit based on the insights from partners.
The partnership consist of 9 partners that cover all the eligible countries of the Atlantic Area and is composed of 5 local & regional public organisations and 4 Universities, third sector organisations & associations.
During the meeting the partners will put together the implementation of the activities of the project. In the afternoon of the first day it is scheduled the visit to two projects financed by the Santiago de Compostela Participatory Budget Procedure. The second day the partners will visit the Association of parents of people with intellectual disabilities (ASPAS) and COREGAL, that it is a company dedicated to comprehensive environmental management that create stable and quality employment for people with disabilities.
