The European Pillar of Social Rights, the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) IS the main EU instrument for investing in people.
On 28 September 2022, the European Commission called on Member States to modernise their minimum income schemes and came up with a proposal for a Council Recommendation on how they can modernise their minimum income schemes to make them more effective, lifting people out of poverty, while promoting the labour market integration of those who can work.

The Digital Transformation Accelerator (DTA) will support the network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH), to accelerate the digital transformation of the European economy.
The DTA contract has been awarded to a consortium to support and coordinate the consolidation and extension of the European DIH network through community building events and activities, training sessions, collection and analysis of impact indicators, and by taking care of the online presence and external communication of the network.

Nicolas Schmit, European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights met students from two schools that are using European Social Fund money to drive innovation in education: the Second Chance School, which has laid the foundations for a national model for alternative education, and Equinox Smart Campus at Science Po Aix in Aix en Provence.
This meeting was held during the 43rd Congress of French health insurance.

The European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) is Europe’s main instrument for investing in people and implementing the European Pillar of Social Rights. The fund has a specific objective of enhancing equal and timely access to quality, sustainable and affordable services and aims to increase the effectiveness and resilience of healthcare systems and long-term care services.

EU Week of Regions and Cities will host the ‘SEEDing the Future’ workshop On Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
The SEED project is one of six projects supported by the European Commission to establish national competence centres for social innovation across the EU. This competence centres that can help their countries to promote social innovation, including with funding from ESF+ and other EU programmes.
