The Atlantic Social Lab project in Cork recently funded a mentoring project which contributed to the development of an area based plan for the Ballyvolane/Dublin Hill area of Cork City, using Planning for Real approaches. Developing an area based plan in this way facilitates a process whereby people living in local communities can identify the issues of concern to them and be central in leading out and generating solutions.

Mon, 10/21/2019 - 13:37 Social Innovation Conference organized by Enterprise North West in Belfast (3rd and 4th of October 2019)
As part of the Atlantic Social Lab, Enterprise North West organized and facilitated a group of social change actors and influencers to attend the conference and to partake in the overall session as well as the workshop sessions during the days. This group represented the only attendees from the North West of NI.

Tue, 09/10/2019 - 13:00 Workshop on Social Clauses in Avilés (Asturias) on 13th September 2019
On the 13th September Avilés Municipality (Spain) will be organizing a Workshop on Social Clauses. The event will be held within the project Atlantic Social LAB will be attended by all project partners and it will have a as keynote speaker Mr. Javier Palmero Zurdo, Deputy Head of Unit G3, Procurement legislation and enforcement at the European Commission.
The Workshop will addressed topics connected to how to integrate the social clauses within the local procurement procedures.

CES Coimbra partner organized, within the context of the INTERREG Atlantic Social Lab (May 9 2019), the International Workshop "Social Innovation and the Role of the State", aimed at discussing social innovation and challenges for public policy.
This video gathered the most important conclusions: social innovation is a complex process that can be seen, in an unpretentious approach, as new ideas that address unmet social needs - and work in practice.

The Atlantic Social Lab project held a Measuring Social Impact Workshop for Social Enterprises in the Lifetime Lab in Cork on the 29th May 2019.
This half-day workshop introduced participants to Impact Measurement for Social Enterprises. It focused on exercises to explore the key concepts, definitions and tools to support social enterprises with measuring the outcomes of their work.
